Race Recap: Gobble Wobble 5K

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Before the belt had to be loosed from an extra scoop of stuffing it was down to Attleboro, Massachusetts for the Gobble Wobble 5K.

The race took place nice and early yesterday morning at 8AM and was held on the grounds of an industrial/office park. The race started and finished at the Attleboro YMCA and raised funds for programming at the YMCA. The weather was drizzly and chilly but certainly there have been much colder turkey day runs in the past.

Upon leaving the starting line, we made our way into the office park and it was pretty apparent that the race would be rather flat aside from a couple quick inclines over speed bumps (kidding). There was no traffic in the office park on Thanksgiving morning and the course was an out and back loop. The only real elevation in the race came in the final mile of the run and was a touch of climbing for no more than 30 seconds; overall a very flat run. There was a water stop around the 1.5 mile mark that runners could hit both on the way out and back.

Legs were a little sore from 3 rides on the Peloton the day before but overall ran a pretty good race. I finished the Gobble Wobble 5K with a time of 24:08, good for 7:46/miles. Definitely earned that extra scoop of stuffing and maybe a second piece of pie!
