Humidity Beats Kevin Tonight

unnamed (5)

If it has been said once it has been said a million times. It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity.

As runners, we all have our off days/nights of running and tonight the humidity beat me pretty good. It was sort of a last minute decision to head to the Raynham Monday Night Fun Run this evening after a bit later train commute home and it would have been easier to stay home and just put the feet up. But I changed into my running gear and made the short drive a town over and tackled the 3.25 mile course.

It rained here earlier just a few hours earlier and the summertime humidity was in full effect. Within the first mile my shirt was already a soupy mess and the air was so thick you needed a fork and knife to cut through it. Having run this race more than a few times, I know what to expect out on the course but the humidity really was the wild card this evening.

I still ran a decent race and finished with a time of 26:19 on the 3.25 mile course which is good for 8:05/miles. Overall the pace was not terrible but I definitely felt the humidity take its toll and struggled more than normal. Nonetheless, another race complete and putting the feet up post-run was even more well-deserved than had I not run!
